Triple Pundit is an innovative new-media platform for the business community that cultivates awareness and understanding of the triple bottom line. The portal provides expert editorial coverage and group discussions on sustainable business in the 21st century. 3p was started by Nick Aster as a side project while getting his MBA at in Sustainable Management at the Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco.
The inspiration behind the site was to bring a business voice into the larger conversation about sustainability. Founder Nick Aster realized that for too long the business community and the activist community had looked upon each other as adversaries. In order to actually get anywhere, and to ensure the preservation of not only the environment, but a thriving society and economy, business and activism had to learn all three of these aspects were interdependent.
That's the idea behind the "Triple Bottom Line" - from where the title comes.
Conversation - something that is inherently built into "web 2.0" and online media in general is the goal of the site. 3p hopes that by presenting a diversity of voices into the conversation around sustainability that new and better ideas will spread. 3p also hopes that by encouraging companies to explore a more conversational approach to issues of corporate social responsibility that they will be more open to evolving how they do business in a more positively impaction direction.
Now, with over 120,000 monthly readers across a corporate, academic, and professional demographic, 3p has emerged as a leading group of voices in the green media mainstream.
